10 BRUTAL STRUGGLES ONLY VEGANS WILL UNDERSTAND

Being a vegan is great, but sometimes it’s a struggle.

1. Going out to eat at a restaurant whose only vegan option is a garden salad.

The struggle is real.

2. Checking the ingredients in EVERYTHING.

“Contains carmine?! NO!!”
*carmine is a commonly used food coloring made from insect shells. Ew.

3. Being the only friend at the pizza party who has to order their own personal pizza without cheese.

“Mmm. I just love saucy bread.”

4. Dealing with the guilt of accidentally eating meat/eggs/cheese/dairy.

“I’ll never forgive myself!”

5. Ordering a side of olive oil at a restaurant that serves bread because you can’t eat the butter.

Paula Deen would not approve.

6. Having to bring your own veggie dogs to the BBQ.

Hot, squeaky, and delicious!

7. Calling ahead to make sure that your friends and/or family make reservations at a restaurant where you can actually eat.

“Sorry, but that steakhouse just isn’t gonna cut it.”

8. Debating whether eating honey is an OK things to do as a vegan.

Why is bee puke so appealing anyway?

9. Having to bring your own vegan cream cheese with you when you go to a bagel shop.

It’s 2015! Get with the program, bagel shops of the world. Not all of us eat dairy!

10. Defending your decision to be vegan multiple times a day.

“Just let me eat my lettuce in peace, OK?!”

But at the end of the day, even if it’s sometimes hard, you do it because you care.

And that makes it all worth it.

IT'S OFFICIAL - SPACE MOUNTAIN IS THE COOLEST RIDE EVER

Who doesn't love space? Who doesn't love Disney? Combine the two and (Great Scott!) you've got a hit. Space Mountain makes our list of favorite things simply because it is so darn cool. Opening its doors at Disney World in 1975 and Disneyland two years later in 1977, Space Mountain isn't Disney's oldest ride, but its certainly one of it's most famous.

What kid hasn't dreamt of going to space? Walt Disney had the right idea when he developed Space Mountain, but there are so many other reasons to love this far out ride. For instance, you can feel the 70's vibe-ness resonating from the ride's walls as you await your launch into "space". Also, this ride is pretty much a roller coaster in the dark. That's right. IN. THE. DARK. Just think about that. It's all sorts of terrifying and amazing all at the same time. It really makes you feel like you might be in a late 70s/early 80s space-themed movie like Star Wars or The Last Starfigher.

Okay, also look at how cute these retro Space Mountain ride attendants were! Their outfits are pure retro magic.

AND how rad is the music for this ride? Don't worry. If you don't live near a Disney Park, you can kind of simulate the joy and wonder of Space Mountain by playing this music in your car while driving around at night. Bring a few friends with you and some mouse ears to really get in the spirit!

It's a fact. Space Mountain is one of the best rides ever in our book.

THIS JAPANESE MUSIC VIDEO IS THE BEST THING EVER

The internet is full of treasures if you look hard enough. Weed through the most popular videos on YouTube into the sites under-belly and - my goodness - you can find GOLD. One such golden video is "Nice Peace", a music video from a Japanese kid's show called Uncle Sailor. It's the best thing you'll see all day.

Yes, that man is wearing a skirt.

Yes, he is balding.

BUT THIS SONG IS SO CATCHY. Watch it once and try not to hum it throughout the day. I dare ya.

Okay, so dogs are already pretty cute just being dogs... but adding eyebrows to said cute dog? Oh boy! That's a whole level of cute. In fact, a whole other planet.
