5 "NO REASON" PARTY IDEAS
Sometimes the urge to par-tay can come upon you out of thin air and
you don't always want to wait for a holiday or birthday to celebrate.
Here's an idea - throw a party for no reason at all! These awesome "no
reason" party ideas are totally doable, inexpensive
and ridiculously
awesome! So... get out your camera, call up your friends
and get ready to host the party of the year... just because!
1) SOUP POTLUCK
Okay,
if you've never made soup before it's understandable if a soup potluck
sounds like you'd need a lot of prep time to make it happen. What
you'll be happy to know is that soup is one of the easiest, most
delicious and most forgiving foods you can prepare. You can seriously
make a killer soup in 20 minutes from food that you've probably already
got lying around the house. Also, there are a bazillion soup recipes
all over the internet. Just go on
Pinterest and type in "easy soup
recipes" and get ready to be overloaded with deliciousness! If you're
really unsure of your cooking skills, you can always go out and buy
canned soup and say that you made it... odds are no one will ever know
the difference. For an extra dose of awesome have everyone anonymously
vote on their favorite soup and give a prize and home-made ribbon to the
winner.
2) JOHN HUGHES PARTY
It's a fact - everyone loves the movies of John Hughes.
So why not tap into this universal adoration by throwing a John Hughes
party? Have everyone dress up as their favorite John Hughes
character and be sure to take plenty of angsty photos. The '80s and
'90s are back in style, so your guests will probably have something
Hughes-y in their closet already. Also, Netflix is always streaming at
least one John Hughes movie, so be sure to put your favorite on in the
background while you party the night away while dancing to The
Psychedelic Furs and eating Cheetos.
3) DISNEY MOVIE MARATHON
Don't
deny it... you sneak a little Disney into your life when no one's
around. Whether it's a Disney song at work or Disney on Netflix before
bed, everyone does it, so why not share the Disney love by throwing a
Disney movie marathon? This party takes no preparation and can be ultra
casual - your friends can even come in their pajamas! If the spirit
moves you, turn the Disney movie marathon into a full-on throwback '90s Disney slumber party complete with Gushers, hair braiding and Truth or Dare and prank calls to that special prince or princess.
4) FUTURE YOU PARTY
Everyone
has thought about what their life will be like in 10... 20... or 30
years... what they'll be doing, what they'll be wearing, where they'll
live... so why not turn those curiosities into an unforgettable "no
reason" party? Tell guests to dress as their future selves and get
ready to learn things you never knew about your friends and their hopes
for the future. If you're feeling crafty, you can put a sign on the
front door that says something like, "PORTAL TO THE FUTURE". It may
sound cheesy, but trust us - people will be all about it. Make sure to
take lots of pictures that you can look back on when it actually is the future (did we just blow your mind their or what?!). Be sure to put on the Back To The Future trilogy on in the background while you party like it's 2045!
5) SEVENTIES ROLLER DISCO PARTY
You
may not know it, but you probably have a totally groovy roller rink
within an hour of where you live. Don't believe us? GOOGLE IT! If
you've never been roller skating then you are in for a treat, sister!
Have your friends dress up in awesome '70s clothes with awesome '70s hair and
get ready to have a far out time. Most roller rinks have real live DJs
playing their tunes, so you can request your favorite song to get down
to. Also, many roller rinks have different music theme nights and they
may already have a night specifically dedicated to the '70s!
